Log - Day 3

Wed 15th of April 2026

Had a productive day today and managed to get the elevated access to the Google console project. I’m working on for Google chat so I’ve got through into that create a new service account. Got the P2 file was having problems with the password because the password is generated at the same time as the key turns out the password to stay IT trick so I’m getting around that but you managed to get the integration working so now the next stage is to configure service now so that the bot will actually respond in a predictable way because of the moment doing the chat through Google chat is coming through just saying it’s chat but not responding so progress is being made on that one so that’s all good.

The incident that I picked up regarding the approval groups the approvals are working. The approval goes to a group as it should do but the user wants the approvals to go to an individual, I’ve advised the user against this reasons if the individuals off on Leave then it’s gonna delay the processing of the request but the user understand this but we still wants it to go to an individual so I’m gonna have to work on that one tomorrow because the way the approval will currently be set up. It’s set up to go to a group so I might have to do some script in on the approval for the individual. It’s not gonna be too difficult it just depends on where the individual is if the individuals in the group or have to not walk to the individual somehow but that’s gonna be a job for tomorrow.

I created a report for user today and the report was on the change request table but he was the user wanted specific details of the request item and the task reference numbers to appear on the report, this doesn’t always appear so I had to kind of dig down on the dot walk to the particular field. I had to find it but managed to get it added to the report so that was a nice Kwik win so I managed to get that one done.
Picked up a story today that’s gonna require a lot of work which is gonna be good because it’s all catalogue item work so it’s gonna be stuff that I’m used to it. It’s gonna be a good learning curve so that I can go through each individual catalogue item and basically tidy it up and configure it just to make it work easier quicker more intuitive for the user it’s gonna be stuff that sit within my comfort zone. I’ve spent a lot of time outside my comfort zone recently so to get my teeth into something that I know I’m capable of that’s gonna be nice to be able to get on with that.

Boiled chicken this evening, plenty of salt and pepper to the water and some Peri seasoning and a sliced carrot and it seems to have seasoned the chicken quite well. It’s got flavour and that with some Caesar salad dressing and a baby leaf salad that’s actually really quite nice. I enjoyed that I still got some chicken leftover. I might have that for lunch tomorrow, we’ll see.

Checked on the delivery date of my company car, should be here on the 30th of April so that gives me two weeks to do something with my car. My dad has expressed interest in my car but not sure if I should sell it to him that’s it. It would make sense, cause I’d be like so much out-of-pocket otherwise but if I was going to sell it how much do I charge him? Because I know what the car is worth but then charging family it just just feels wrong time will tell.

I’m not sure if these notes are helping, but time will tell them I’ve done it for three days it’s like taking captains log and all that so hopefully the more I do it the better the dictation will be. Not sure what I’m gonna do with these notes. Something to look back on in a couple of months just to see where my head was at. I’m not sure whether I can release it onto my WordPress blog which I haven’t actually done anything with for the past five or six years. Not sure anybody would read them either so might be interesting.
