Log - Day 5

Had a terrible night sleep last night, I was still awake at 1 am. I think it was and I’m suffering today for it. brain just wouldn’t switch off.

There’s an Accounts Payable project that we’re working on at the moment, onboarding them to ServiceNow, one my colleagues realised there’s gonna be an issue with the user accounts they want to import there’s gonna be some duplications for some of the accounts already exist. We’re gonna have to wait and see what happens with that because we don’t want duplicates but we want tickets to log via what’s called an inbound action which will include the email of the sender in that inbound action and that’s kind of core to the whole thing basically so we’re gonna have to come up with a battle plan to find out what’s going on with that. Are you created a UI action that allows the user to create a new user record for any emails that come through from new senders? There’s a field on the populates or populated that works for field for than the employed by field, the employed by field will be the name of the supplier company so if we can create a user record and associated with the supplier company that keeps everything altogether because if there’s more than one user record for the same supplier, we can keep everything together that way. So my colleague who’s heading the project is gonna talk to our manager to find out what’s gonna be the best of course of action for that one whether we create the duplicates which we might want to try and avoid or internal users will manually log a ticket rather than sending the email to the mailbox as they do at the moment but then that’s just gonna cause further problems stand the line whereas why don’t they just send an email to the email address of the Rory doing and then I’ll lock the record anyway.

Working on the Google chat project today there was a bit of a bit of a breakthrough. I know why it’s the chat itself is saying not responding because of the HTTPS you’re allowed then it’s going through whereas if I change that to an script it will respond as expected via the app script. When I change it to HTTPS the points to the test URL where it pulls up the API that’s when it says the chat but isn’t responding so there’s an OIDC record that I need to update and get the all configured properly to allow the connection to allow the authentication to go through and then the chat not responding. There’s still some configuration that I need to do in the background of the the channel to Google chat channel to start giving responses and that’s gonna be the next stage I need to get it to connect First to say it’s actually given a response from somewhere.

Working on the UI action for the accounts payable project I managed to get the UI action to fill both the works for field and employed by field, so depending on what the accounts payable team want to do with the user records if they want to fill a specific record specific field they can fill one or the other or both, so they’ve got an option there to find out what they wanna do.

Most of the day was taken up finding that OIDC record and trying to figure out if that is going to be the right course of action, there are 3 OIDC records and it’s gonna be one of them which is OIDC something but then there’s another two that were external but only one of those external accounts have the email address of the surface account that was created in the Google chat project so that’s got a client ID but I don’t know what the client secret is so I’m even gonna need to create a new client secret of the service record on the Google account to get that all to authenticate or I might be barking at the wrong tree and it might not be anything to do with the service account being the OIDC account record in service now anyway so I need to figure out if that is the right course of action in the first place to figure out how that’s gonna connect to the background. It might be something to do with configuring the Google chat channel within service now to actually get a predictable response from a prompt within the Google chat so that’s gonna be some work on next week.

I asked a colleague to check on the process for the approvals record for the topic access request that I was working on earlier this week and they seemed happy with what’s been done so I pushed that through to prod earlier this morning and we’ll have to wait to see what happens next week when some start logging the ticket and it goes to approval obviously that was part of the process. That’s what the manager had said was broken anyway, so he’s got a bit of extra work to do now so we’ll have to see what happens with that.

As it’s a Friday I went out for a walk and accidentally fell into the pub… LOL

I had a nice porter/stout called Sabra Cadabra and then after that I had a something called a Campfire Sour which was quite nice and then after that I had something called an Anniversary Cake which was 12% ABV, which was really quite nice and then I went to the Chinese and got King prawn chow mein… And prawn crackers! I’m now feeling a little bit bloated, I might not be able to sleep again tonight.

It’s Wrestlemania 42 this weekend so Sunday no wait Saturday is gonna be SmackDown Sunday is going to be Wrestlemania Saturday and then Monday is gonna be Wrestlemania Sunday because of the time and then it all works out between the UK and the US it’s gonna be a good one I think looking forward to it. Brock Lesnar versus Oba Femi that’s gonna be brutal. CM punk versus Roman Reigns that’s gonna be a good storytelling Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton that’s gonna be a good storytelling Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu that’s gonna be brutal the Usos and LA Knight versus the vision and some YouTuber, yeah that’s not gonna be as fun that’s just gonna be a promotional connection with the kids kind of match. Stephanie Vaquer versus Liv Morgan that’s gonna be good that is gonna be a good one. I’m looking forward to that one and Reah Ripley versus Jade Cargill that’s gonna be a brutal one not sure what’s gonna happen with that one cause Ripley is so over with the crowd but whether she’s gonna win the championship off Jade not sure.

I should probably add a qualifier to the end of these logs, something along the lines of “Dictated but not read.”
